Garden Success with Kids

Think easy! Think quick! Think fresh!

Let’s talk about thinking easy. You don’t need a fancy raised garden bed, you have the earth below your feet to thank. Find an area that you feel is right and call that the start of your little garden.

Let’s talk about thinking quick. Kids have a short attention span (and so do some of us adults). Plant seeds that yield quick results to keep the kids interested and engaged. Top ten seeds to consider growing are snap peas, sunflowers, radishes, marigolds, cherry tomatoes, pumpkins, carrots, potatoes, green beans, and lettuce.

Let’s talk about thinking fresh. Once the seeds start producing results it’s so much fun for the kids to nibble and taste test their fresh, homegrown produce.

Look around your community for some ‘gardening’ inspiration and you’ll be sure to find it. We found some while out and about shopping and the kids are now ready to start their spring garden journey! More to come on that soon….
